Over the summer season we host our own glampsite, Polgreen Glamping, in a pretty private meadow on our farm near to the gorgeous North Coast of Cornwall with Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay just moments away. With gorgeous bell tents all kitted out, dining and cooking areas, showers, lavs, and more, it's your chance to escape to the Great British Outdoors in style this Summer. With three belle bell tents it's perfect for couples and families or can be hired for exclsuive use by you and your loved ones.
If you're looking for off site bell tent hire for set up at a location of your choice you need to check out our Bell Tent Hire packages.
Polgreen is situated in a valley meadow on our farm set between the wonderful North Cornwall coast beach at Mawgan Porth and the pretty Cornish village of St Mawgan. Down an unmarked lane you have the sense of being off the beaten track however you are just minutes away from all the area has to offer. The site meadow is bounded by trees and a shallow stream, it's a haven for wildlife, flora and fauna.
The site has three large six metre bell tents which are each a canvas palace for a couple or a cosy retreat for up to a family of five (maximum of two adults per bell tent). Sorry, we are a no dogs site. Each of the bell tents have a double with real mattress and a double futon, cosy rugs and tea light chandeliers. Additional single mattress rolls are available for an additional child guest where required. You can bring your own bedding or pre book a bedding package. Each bell tent has it's own tented dining shelter with table and chairs and cooking station with a double gas stove top (with gas provided). You are welcome to bring your own BBQ, we will provide bricks / slates for you to put it on. Each bell tent also has it's own water carrier, small cool box, kitchenalia, crockery and cutlery. After more than 10 years of hosting our own site we think we've thought of everything - no more packing the kitchen sink. A full kit list is supplied on booking confirmation.
The site has a central fire pit area (with wood available) with seating around. There is a small communal fridge with freezer compartment (with ice packs provided). There are two hot gas showers, two cold water sinks with drinking water and a dedicated compost lav for each bell tent. Eco toiletries and housekeeping supplies are provided. All site lighting is solar powered but there is a multi charge point for personal devices. There is no reliable mobile reception on the site but you can get a signal in some pockets and further up the farm lane. For full site bookings a larger central dining shelter and BBQ can be provided by arrangement.
The site is set in a secluded valley meadow with plenty of space to enjoy nature and for the kids to play. The pretty inland village is a 10-15 minute walk down a country lane and there are a choice of wonderful beaches from within a few minutes drive or 25 minute stroll. Find out more about the amazing local area and all it has to offer here.
The site itself is a wonderful spot to make memories... from popping the whistle kettle on for a morning cuppa to the sound of birds, to watching the kids discover grasshoppers while you get your camping feast prepped, to ending the day stargazing around a campfire with a hot chocolate or wine. You don't need to take our word for it, over the years of hosting our shared site we were featured in two Cool Camping books and were listed as a top ten family site by The Guardian, we also had a consistent 5 star review rating on the Cool Camping website - you can check out some of our previous guest reviews here.
Our Summer stays run for 3 or 7 nights from a Friday or 4 or 7 nights from a Monday (avoiding the notorious Saturday changeover day traffic). On check in day you can arrive any time from 4pm and have to leave by 10am on your departure day. We will give you a warm welcome when you arrive and then leave you to enjoy your stay apart from a daily site visit to check the site and do any necessary maintenance.
